Amid the conflict climbing in the Middle East, former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) used his X profile to recall his official trip to Israel in March 2019. At the time, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received the then Brazilian executive head in a reserved area of Tel Aviv airport.
“God bless Israel. God save Brazil,” Bolsonaro wrote this Sunday (15).

Bolsonaro and his supporters adopt a pro-Israel discourse since the beginning of the conflict between Israel and Hamas in October 2023. Last week, and declared a state of emergency, promoting a climb of tension in the region.
While Bolsonaro adopts a pro-Israel stance, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) expresses a critical tone for Israeli management because of military acting in the Gaza Strip. Israel declared the petista as persona non grata in February 2024.
This Sunday (15). Security sirens were also played in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
