Marcos Rocha traveled with a state entourage to sign partnerships in the areas of agricultural technology, public safety and innovation; Group awaits the reopening of airspace
The governor of, Marcos Rocha (União Brasil), reported this Saturday (14) moments of tension experienced by the state government entourage during official trip, amid a climb in the conflict in the region. In a video released to the press, the head of the state executive thanked the concern demonstrated by authorities and the Brazilian population in the face of the scenario of insecurity in the country of the Middle East. “We spent a very difficult night, where several missiles were launched against the state of Israel. Unfortunately, the iron dome could not intercept one of the missiles, which eventually fell into a residential area, causing the death of three civilians,” said Rocha.
According to the governor, members of the entourage are being supported by the Brazilian and Israeli authorities. “We are being well attended by the Brazilian Embassy in Israel and also by the Israeli embassy there in Brazil,” he said. The group remains in Israel waiting for the reopening of airspace to return to Rondônia.
Rocha stressed that, despite the tension, everyone is safe and hoping that the situation will normalize in the coming days. “We will continue here awaiting the release of airspace so that we can go back to our homes and our activities. A big hug. May we all be with God,” he said.
The visit of the Rondoniense entourage Israel was intended to establish partnerships in the areas of agricultural technology, public safety and innovation. The official agenda, however, was partially compromised due to the intensification of conflicts in the region.
