Some residents of Tehran are running away from the capital of Iran as Panic takes over the country amid the growing conflict with Israel.
Many are going north, near the Caspian Sea, which is more rural and isolated. But residents said CNN that the roads are so congested that it is difficult to get around.
A family, who did not want to be identified, decided to leave Tehran with his two young children and his elderly parents. They fear that the government has housed military authorities and leaders in upper -middle -class populous neighborhoods – putting civilians at risk.
“I don’t want to leave home, but I won’t put my young children in this situation,” said his father. “I hope the US will intervene to prevent attacks between the two countries.”
In the city of Shiraz, long lines to supply form throughout the city. Residents are also stocking food, water and diapers.
Cars full of families with bags and water tied to the ceiling were seen around the city, with many families going to the field.
One family said he waited for an hour to get gas so he could leave.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to “attack all places and targets of the Ayatollah regime,” referring to the country’s supreme leader.
