Algarve hotels increased by 1.2 percentage points (PP) in the occupation of rooms in May, from the same month of 2024, to 74.8%, the largest hotel association in the southern region of the country announced last Friday.
According to provisional data advanced by the Algarve Hotels and Tourism Association (AHETA), the markets that most contributed to the climb found were National (plus 1.9 pp), Spanish (plus 0.6 pp), and German (plus 0.4pp). The British market registered a homologous descent of 1.5 pp of the registered occupation rate and the Swedish of 0.4 pp.
On the other hand, the average occupant stay was 3.7 nights, 0.5 below the month of May 2024.
The most prolonged medium stays were those of the Dutch (Netherlands) market, with 6.2 nights, from German, with 6.0, and Swedish, with 5.6.
According to, revenue per room available (REVPAR) increased by 9.5%, approaching 82 euros.
This sector performance indicator measures the revenue generated by each room available, regardless of whether it is busy or not.
