The eve of the debut of the Club World Cup was marked by party and friendly climate among fans in one of the most famous sights in the world. This Saturday (14), Palmeirenses and Tunisia Spered Fans met at New York to celebrate the participation of their clubs in the tournament. During the meeting, which caught the attention of those passing by, the fans sang corners, exchanged flags and even played together. In the midst of relaxation, Brazilians taught the Tunisians to say “sucks,”-the Estimacy will face the Rio club next Monday (16), in Philadelphia.
The celebration took place on a tense day in the United States. Several American cities have recorded protests against President Donald Trump, with guidelines focused mainly on migratory policy and the deportation of immigrants. In New York, protesters marched the streets, but without great concentrations in Times Square, where the fans were gathered.
Palmeiras debut at the World Cup on Sunday (15), at 19h (Brasília time), against Porto, Portugal. The match will be held at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey, a few kilometers from Manhattan. Already the Sperance faces Flamengo in the second, in Philadelphia, about 150 km away. Coach Abel Ferreira highlighted the importance of the fans before the debut. “It is a pride and an honor to be able to serve Palmeiras, and our fans have been the soul, at times we need, and you will feel that energy tomorrow,” he said.
