63rd Anniversary of Emancipation of Acre: Ceremony celebrates the history of the state

Acre celebrated on Sunday (15), the 63 years of elevation to the state category of the Federation, with a ceremony that brought together several authorities, including Governor Gladson Camelí, and the population, on the Gameleira Boardwalk, in the second district of Rio Branco.

At the time, the Acrean flag rasing, civic-military parade and delivery of grants and honors to important names that are part of the construction of the region.

Acre became a Brazilian state on June 15, 1962, when it was elevated to the category of federative unit through Law No. 4,070. Before that, it was a federal territory, created after the signing of the Petrópolis Treaty in 1903, which formalized the region’s inauguration throughout Brazil, after conflicts with Bolivia.

The ceremony celebrates the importance of the date, focusing on the place known as “the state that fought to be Brazilian” and the recognition of its warrior population.
