Plant protection during mulching
Do you mulch? Then you’re doing well. This process not only allows plants to grow better, provides them with moisture and calm from annoying weeds. If you mulch older and more stable greenery, everything is fine. Worse, however, the situation arises in young seedlings, which can be damaged during mulching. Why?
Creating a healthy barrier
The container will provide three benefits to the germinating life. First, the above -ground green part is not unnecessarily poured. And second: the flower pot creates a 2 – 3 centimeter between the plant and the mulch. As a result, the flower will have enough space for its growth. And for the third time, the plastic packaging will make a healthy barrier between the seedling and the mulch. The new greenery finds itself in an imaginary Ďolík. For you, this means an advantage with watering.
Seedlings
Some seedlings are extremely fragile, so they need to be protected from strong winds and bad weather in the first weeks. For these cases, a protective collar is used to make just from an old makeshift pot. Just cut off the bottom and put the rest of the container on the plant you want to take care of.
Frost insulation
Larger plastic pots can be used as a security plant from ground frosts. The instructions are simple, just cover the plant with a pot (or two). As a result, an air barrier is created to protect the greenery against temperature fluctuations.
Herbs at bay
Do you grow herbs in the garden? Then you know that some species – for example, mint, lemon balm, sage and others – are very invasive. Therefore, your herb garden may turn into a streaky herb forest. In order not to grow into each other, plant them in a plastic pot that you cut off the bottom.
Drinking regime for tomatoes
Do you grow tomatoes? Then you know they need to water. But only to the roots! To make it easier, put a plastic pot with a cut day around the seedlings. This creates an enclosed space that directs moisture exactly where it belongs.
