American aircraft carrier Nimitz, which was sailing in the southern China Sea, is moving towards the Middle East, according to Marine Traffic website, which follows the position of ships around the world in real time. The vessel is currently in Malaca Strait, between Sumatra Indonesia Island and Malaysia. AFP contacted the Navy, but has not yet received an answer. A reception aboard the Nimitz planned on June 20 during a visit by the Danang aircraft carrier in Vietnam, was canceled, the Vietnamese government told AFP, citing a letter from the American embassy. The text mentions “an emerging operational necessity” to justify the cancellation of the event.
Israel, an ally of the United States, launched an unprecedented air campaign against Friday, directed to hundreds of military and nuclear facilities, with the stated purpose of preventing the country from gaining atomic weapons. Since then, Iran has responded with missile saves. This is the first time the two enemy countries have been involved in such an intense military confrontation. The US President, said on Sunday that it is “possible” that the United States get involved in the conflict, but not “right now.”
