Striker Germán Cano will not start in the debut match of the Fluminense Club World Cup against Borussia Dortmund. Coach Renato Gaúcho confirmed the striker’s absence in the starting lineup at a news conference on Monday (16).

Why is not a starter germán?
The absence of the player in the starting lineup is for Renato Gaúcho’s decision. The coach said the attacker is 100% recovered from left knee ligament distension, suffered in late April.
Despite the evolution, Renato Gaúcho’s option for keeping the Argentine in the bench is due to lack of pace of play.
Since he suffered the injury, Cano has lost nine games for Fluminense (five in the Brazilian Championship, one in the Brazilian Cup and three in the South American Cup).
Fluminense lineup against Borussia Dortmund
In addition to the absence of germán pipe among the holders in the first clash of the World Cup, Fluminense will not be attended by newly hired Soteldo. The striker suffered a grade 2 muscle injury and is expected to return only in a possible knockout.
