At Kupała night go to the river and do it. You will find out if you will have love or poverty

The longest night of the year in the year was celebrated in a loud way. For the Slavs it was one of the most important days of the year. Kupała Night was filled with joyful rituals, which were to predict, among others The fate of lonely brides. During the summer solstice, two elements played an important role – fire and water. They celebrated on rivers, to which previously woven wreaths were released. What happened to them was to determine the future of the girl to whom the wreath belonged.

The maids during the summer solstice traditionally coat wreaths, mainly from field flowers and branches of trees, including birch. The type of flowers was not particularly important, you can choose those that we like – It is good that the wreath has something characteristic, thanks to which it will be easier for us to recognize when releasing into the water. This is important if we do this kind of ritual in a dozen or so, several dozen people, then you can also “lose” our own, which means that according to tradition we can not know the future.

It is worth preparing wreaths in the morning or the day before – if we do not have practice, we will take them at least an hour. It is worth watching out with the poppies, these flowers willed very quickly and are extremely delicate, so if you want to use them for a wreath, it is worth molding it shortly before the night of Kupała.

Wreaths are usually released at night from June 21 to 22however, some municipalities organize games at Kupał night and usually take place in the evening – wanting to do such fun with friends, you can do it typically at night. What exactly is the fun? It is quite simple – previously woven wreaths throw into the Virgin River, and young people are designed to pick them out. This is interesting fun, but it is more popular when we interpret the results.

Halling a wreath means that the lady to whom he belonged quickly will find love. If the wreath sailed away and no one managed to pick it out, it could mean a kind of new beginning, sometimes it was said about loneliness, potentially the worst divination of her sinking wreath, then the lady was to wait poverty.
