Governing deputies criticized the decision of the Chamber of The Urgency Request of the PDL (Legislative Decree Project) 314 of 2025, which revokes the Government Decree that increased the IOF (Tax on Financial Operations). The proposal this Monday (16.jun.2025) by 346 votes in favor and 97 against.
Now the proposal can be voted in the plenary at any time. The overthrow marks a defeat for Finance Minister Fernando Haddad, who articulated the increase in tax as a strategy to reinforce the collection and ensure balance in public accounts of 2025.
