Israeli air attacks on the nuclear complex Nanez in Iran seem to have directly affected the underground halls with centrifuges to enrich uranium. This was stated on Tuesday by the International Atomic Energy Agency (MAAE), TASR reports according to AP.
The attacks are part of the operation that Israel launched against Iran five days ago. According to Israeli representatives, this hostile country prevented from getting closer to getting nuclear weapons. The UN Supervisory Agency has so far stated that the Israeli attacks have destroyed above -ground objects in Nanza, the main Iranian uranium enrichment complex.
“Based on a continuing analysis of high -resolution satellite images done after Friday’s attacks, it has identified other elements that indicate direct intervention of underground enrichment halls (uranium) in Nananza,” she said maae.
Iran claims that its nuclear program has exclusively peaceful purposes, and according to US and other countries, Tehran has not tried to develop nuclear weapons since 2003, AP recalled. However, Maae Rafael Grossi, CEO, has repeatedly pointed out that the country has enough enriched uranium for several nuclear bombs if it decided to produce them.
So far, Israel has attacked several complexes of the Iranian nuclear program, but has not been able to destroy the Uranium enrichment plant. It is located deep below the ground and could be needed to destroy the American 13,000-kilogram GBU-57 bomb. Israel does not have such a weapon or an aircraft to bring it to the destination, AP added.
