It approved this Monday (16.JUN.2025) the urgent application of the PDL (Legislative Decree Project) to revoke the decree that increased the IOF (Tax on Financial Operations).
The approval was 346 votes to 97. Deputies voted in favor of the urgent request of (Provisional Measure) published on Wednesday (11.JUN) by the Minister of Finance, which compensates for the partial revocation of the increase in IOF with the increase of other taxes.
Now the proposal can be voted in the plenary at any time. The overthrow marks a defeat for Haddad, who articulated the increase in tax as a strategy to reinforce the collection and ensure balance in public accounts of 2025.
The mayor, (Republicans-PB) decided to advance with the urgency on Thursday (12.Jun) after the publication of the MP, which displeased part of the allied base. The text establishes, among other measures, the taxation of investments exempt today, such as LCI (Real Estate Credit Letter) and LCA (Agribusiness Credit Letter).
