Operation against drug trafficking holds 12 people in Salvador

The Bahia Civil Police arrested 12 Suspects to integrate a criminal organization involved with drug trafficking e homicideson the morning of Tuesday (17). The arrests occurred in the metropolitan region of Salvador, Bahia.

According to the police, the arrests occurred in the context of the Pertinal operation, which seeks to combat the actions of the organization using intelligence tools and field surveys.

The targets of the pertinal operation are individuals and criminal groups involved not only in crimes against life, but also in Crimes Against Heritage and drug trafficking, besides the involvement in attacks on rival groups in several neighborhoods of the Bahian capital.

More than 100 Civil Police meet warrants of pre -trial detention By definitive conviction, regarding crimes of trafficking, murder and criminal association.

The warrants were fulfilled in in the neighborhoods of Barro Dura, Águas Claras and Cajazeiras, and in Metropolitan regionin the municipalities of Vera Cruz, Lauro de Freitas, Camaçari and Simões Filho, as well as Ourolândia, within the state.

The operation has the support of the departments of repression and combat of corruption, organized crime and money laundering (Draco-LD), the coordinations of operations and special resources (Core) and the Coordination of Judicial Police Operations (Copj).
