They unilaterally canceled a scheduled meeting with Russia with the aim of resolving tensions in bilateral relations, according to Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zaharova.
She noted that the talks, which were intended to face basic discomfort – including the operation of diplomatic missions – were abolished at Washington’s initiative.
Sakharova added that Moscow continues to hope that the US pause in the consultations on the operation of embassies would not pull indefinitely, implying that further delay would exacerbate the already strained relationships.
