The Rotary Club of Albufeira this month celebrates its 54th anniversary, marking more than half a century of dedication to the local community, through initiatives in the areas of education, health, youth, environment and culture.
Founded on June 16, 1971, the club will celebrate the date with a festive event, scheduled for July 19 (Saturday), from 19:00, at its headquarters. The ceremony will be attended by several local individualities and partners who collaborate in the actions developed by the club.
Among the planned moments, the transmission of tasks, a symbolic act that marks the renewal of responsibilities and ensures the continuity of the Rotary work is highlighted. This is the traditional congratulations corner, celebrating the 54 decades of history.
The highlight of the night will be the inauguration of the annual solidarity pale, a gastronomic and fundraising initiative, open to the participation of members of the Algarve Rotary Clubs and guests, with a capacity limited to 50 people.
During the Rotary year of 2024–2025, it stood out for the promotion of Ryla Algarve 2025, the attribution of university scholarships to young students, the tribute to local personalities and the continuity of structuring regional impact projects.
With this commemorative event, the club reinforces its commitment to the promotion of active citizenship and the service to the community, values that have ruled its performance over the last five decades.
