In my house, cooked corn is a sign that summer is in full swing. When I was a child, my grandmother served her as a light dinner. The yellow, sweet vegetable was always accompanied by butter. And not just any – my favorite, herbal ones. It was an addition that made the corn disappear in a few minutes. Now I pass this recipe – maybe you will like it.
Before I tell you the recipe, I will write a little more about the main ingredient. Is corn healthy? The answer is simple – yes, definitely. The vegetable is a source of dietary fiber that supports digestion And it gives a feeling of satiety for a long time. Thanks to this, the desire for snacking disappears. Fiber also lowers too high cholesterol, which supports the heart. It also contains B vitamins – substances Caring for the nervous system and better metabolism.
Corn also has vitamin A, E and antioxidants (including lutein and zeaxanthin), which they improve your eyesight and protect the eyes against diseases. A vegetable is a treasury of magnesium, potassium or phosphorus. These minerals support the functioning of the heart and take care of good muscle condition.
Although it has a little more carbohydrates than other vegetables, its nutritional value still speaks in its favor. It is worth adding that it is a natural product and a great hot snack. And when you serve it with homemade herbal butter, it will become really unique.
Corn can be eaten in many ways, but cooked and seasoned with herbal butter is the best for me. This is the fastest way to have a delicious dinner or a snackif I don’t feel like sandwiches or salad. Recently, I also started to serve corn and herbal butter as an addition to meats during the grill. The family was delighted and enjoyed her childhood taste.
Ingredients for 4 portions:
- 4 corn cobs,
- 100 g butter 82%,
- a bunch of dill,
- parsley,
- clove of garlic,
- A pinch of salt.
Method of performance:
At the beginning, remove the butter from the fridge so that it softens a little and is simpler to process.
Get on the preparation of corn. If you have a butt with leaves, clean it thoroughly and rinse with water. In the store you can also buy ready -made flasks, for cooking. Put the tilted vegetables in the pot and pour water so that they are completely covered with liquid. Cook for about 15-20 minutes (from the moment of boiling).
In the meantime, prepare herbal butter. Chat well dill and parsley – you need a spoonful of chopped herbs. The butter removed earlier, which gained room temperature, mix with dill and parsley. Peel the garlic and squeeze through the press, mix into butter. Season with a pinch of salt and mix again to combine the ingredients.
Take the cooked corn out of the water, strain and place on a plate. Immediately, still hot, smear with herbal butter. It should start dissolving quickly. Serve right away (if the vegetable is really warm, stick the sticks into skewers from two sides and eat corn, holding it for them).
Although my grandmother did not know the concept of Comfort Food, it was the food that made it happy, prepared. Simple, homemade and full of taste – such recipes are in my opinion a hit.
