Members of the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic elected Wednesday in a secret election for the post of Vice -President of Parliament, head of the deputy club of opposition PS Martin Dubéci. Of the 79 valid tickets from MEPs, no one was against and one deputy stayed. The results of the election were declared in plenary.

The opposition traditionally belongs to one post of Vice -Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. The post was unoccupied for a long time after it was dismissed by MPs in September 2024 PS leader Michal Šimečka. He decided not to run again. In addition to Dubéci, Tibor Gašpar (Smer-SD), head of the CIS Andrej Danko and Peter Žiga (Voice-SD), are also Vice-Presidents of Parliament.
