Group of 27 authorities, which was on an official mission in the Jewish country, managed to safely arrive at Jordan; Itamaraty worked with Israeli and Jordanian governments for withdrawal
After an official mission in Brazilian authorities began to return to Brazil, bringing relief and security to all involved. This Wednesday (18), part of the group already landed in the federal capital, including an employee of the diplomatic representation of Israel. The last 27 members, who were waiting for permission to leave the country, managed to safely arrive at Jordan. The withdrawal operation was skillfully coordinated by Israel’s defense forces, which facilitated the land crossing to the Jordan border, from which Brazilians embarked on commercial flights back to Brazil.
Itamaraty played a key role in negotiating the authorities’ withdrawal, working closely with Israeli and Jordanian governments. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, and Jordanian chancellor Ayman Safadi has intensified conversations since last weekend to ensure safe and efficient operation. The Minister of Institutional Relations of Brazil was also actively involved in the discussions, whose main objective was to ensure the safety of Brazilians during the official mission, which aimed to discuss public security issues in Israel.
The withdrawal of the Brazilian authorities was not exempt from challenges. There were moments of uncertainty, with some members of the group hesitating to leave Israel due to the security situation in the country. However, the arrival of the last 27 members in Jordan marked the success of the operation, with the group of 42 authorities and advisors completely evacuated. This joint effort demonstrates the importance of diplomacy and international cooperation in crisis situations.
