Secretary of Health participates in Tribune in the House and reinforces the importance of blood donation

The Rio Branco City Council promoted, on Wednesday (18), a popular podium to highlight the importance of blood donation. The initiative was proposed by Councilman Aiache, who also officially presented the campaign “Red July”focused on awareness on the subject. In addition to the presence of the head of the health portfolio, the Popular Tribune also had hemoacre representatives, who reinforced the need to maintain blood stocks supplied to ensure emergency surgeries and care.

Secretary Pedro Pascoal pointed out, in his speech, that blood donation is an act of solidarity that saves lives. “A single donation can save up to four people. We need this message to reach the entire population. The donation must be a continuous act, not just in emergency times,” he warned.

During his speech, Councilman Aiache stressed the fundamental role of donors to the health network and highlighted the union of parliamentarians for the campaign.

“This project was born here in the House. Each councilman assumed the goal of taking five donors to the action that will take place on July 8th. Our expectation is to exceed 100 donors that day, showing the strength of our commitment to life,” he said.

In addition to encouraging the donation, Aiache also filed an application requesting an applause motion to Secretary Pedro Pascoal, in recognition of the services rendered to the public health of Acre.

“It is a fair tribute to those who have worked with ethics, commitment and efficiency in conducting the health policies of our state,” said the councilman.

Need for regular donations

Pedro Pascoal also explained that, with the expansion of health services, such as performing more surgeries and procedures, demand for blood also grows. “Having the blood bank fueled is essential to ensure that treatments are not interrupted,” he emphasized.

Currently, the Hemoacre has units in Rio Branco, Cruzeiro do Sul and Brasileia, as well as a bus equipped for itinerant collection in several municipalities of the state.
