The commentators Caio Coppolla and José Eduardo Cardozo discussed on Tuesday (17), in The Great Debate (Monday to Friday, at 11pm), if the caress between Walter Braga Netto and Mauro Cid and the dissemination of audios attributed to the former Jair Bolsonaro (PL) order of orders may lead to the annulment of the delation in the criminal action that investigates an attempted coup d’état in 2022.

For Coppolla, the audios made available on Tuesday by justice that Cid violated the terms agreed at the time of the denunciation. Therefore, for the commentator, the denunciation should be annulled immediately.
“It is clear that he blatantly lied in the statements, not only to the Federal Police, but also to the STF. Apparently, Mauro Cid invented facts to adapt to the thesis of the accusation and the coup narrative,” he said.
Caio Coppolla also disagrees with the decision of Moraes, which denied the request for annulment of the denunciation, with the argument that it is “impertinent” to the current moment of the process.
“From the moment it is discovered, that the proof or source of proof is null, it needs to be extirpated from the process,” he continued.
For José Eduardo Cardozo, the annulment of a denunciation should only happen in the face of extreme cases, as in a coercion.
According to the commentator, the possibility of CID lied or breached the conditions of the agreement, such as using social networks, would not justify an annulment. For him, it may be the case of a termination, which is the loss of benefits related to the denunciation.
“The audios and eventual non -compliance with the denunciation agreement do not invalidate any evidence produced from what Cid said. And it can be used, even, in a possible conviction of ICD,” he explained.
