The resumption of Jabutis of the Offshore Wind Law should cost Brazilian consumers R $ 197 billion over the next 25 years, according to the National Energy Consumers Front (FNCE) and the Association of Large Industrial Energy and Free Consumers (Abrace).
The estimate represents an approximate increase of 3.5% in the electricity bill.
This Tuesday (17), – amendments that have no direct relationship with the central theme with the text debated – which had been included while the Bill of the Legal Framework of Offshore Winds was still being processed.
“Congress today overthrew President Lula’s vetoes in the Offshore Wind PL, and has faced Brazil’s energy at $ 7.5 billion a year and another $ 3 billion taxes we will pay for it. This will reach Brazilians in the electricity bill and the price of everything that is produced in Brazil. Cheap and clean energy is our way to development and we can’t spoil this future,” says Paulo Pedrosa.
The excerpts vetoed by the executive and rescued by the Legislature establish parameters for hiring gas thermal, coal subsidies, compulsory hiring of small hydroelectric power plants (SHPs), the extension of contracts for the Electric Power Alternative Sources (Proinfa), as well as hiring hydrogen and wind plan in the southern region.
FCCE states that a technical analysis made by the entity indicates that there may be unconstitutionality in the Jabutis approved in the Legislature and says it evaluates action in the Supreme Court (STF).
According to the National Front, the measures can lead to retraction in the generation of renewable energy.
“These are unnecessary measures from the point of view of the operation of the electrical system and, in addition to the high cost, have the potential to further expand the already high energy supply in the country, in a context in which the National Electric System Operator (ONS) already makes significant cuts in wind and solar power generation, the so -called curtailment“Says Fnce in a statement.
“Warns for investors who planned to install and generate jobs in Brazil. Danger to the entire industry, commerce and residential consumers that will see an impact on the price of products and services, and inflation. By overthrowing the vetoes of the wind of Offshore, the National Congress becomes responsible for the increase in the electricity bill of Brazilians and for installing the definitive chaos in the electricity sector.”
