The presence of the former president () at Feicorte, agricultural fair in Presidente Prudente, in the interior of São Paulo, emptied the plenary of Alesp (Legislative Assembly of) and postponed the vote of a project of the governor (Republicans) for lack of quorum.
The project to implement the overcoming, a social flag launched in May by Tarcisio, would be voted in the Alesp plenary on Wednesday (18) after having its accelerated proceedings in the house, at the request of the government. The goal is for the program to be in full activity in the 2026 elections.
The governor, although he says he is a pre-candidate for reelection, is considered as presidential next year and had the program seen as one.
However, several deputies of the ruling base traveled to Presidente Prudente (SP), 568 km from the state capital, to accompany Bolsonaro and Tarcisio at Feicorte. This led to the emptying of the Assembly in the last two days.
For a session to start at Alesp, a minimum presence of 24 of 94 deputies is required. On the afternoon of Wednesday, only 19 parliamentarians registered presence. Opposition deputies to the Tarcisio government, although they were in the house, did not appear to record presence. The maneuver not to give quorum to sessions is known to try to obstruct voting.
