Luanda – For the first time, a cancer patient in Africa was successfully operated on from a distance – by a surgeon that was 11,000 kilometers away in the United States. The operation in the CHDC hospital in Angola’s capital Luanda “went well,” said the head of the clinic, Carlos Alberto Masseeca. There the 67-year-old Fernando da Silva was operated on the prostate last Saturday. He was able to leave the hospital three days after the procedure.
