With three Sejjil rocket launches from the guards of the Revolution, Iran is passing through a new era of military aggression, creating severe concern in Israel and the West.

Threat becomes act

For the first time since the start of clashes with Israel, the Iranian revolution guards officially announced the operational use of Sejjil ballistic missiles tonight. According to the announcement, three rockets were launched with a range of 2,000 kilometers, in a demonstration of power accompanied by rhetorical threats to Israel and other “enemies of the Islamic regime”.

The use of Sejjil marks a critical milestone for Tehran: for the first time, the technology of solid fuel developed domestically is tested in real business conditions – and not in exercises or demonstrations.

Solid fuel rocket – geopolitical power multiplier

Sejjil is Iran’s new generation of missile weapons, replacing the older type of Shahab, which use liquid fuel and fired vertically. Their great advantage lies in the use of solid fuels, which allows faster preparation and immediate launch, increasing readiness and reducing the time window.

In addition, Sejjil are launched from a variable angle, which makes it difficult to prevent them, as opposed to the older technology rockets that are launched with a steady orbit.

From Natanz to Tel Aviv in seven minutes

Iran has declared that a Sejjil launched by the central city of Natanz can reach Tel Aviv in less than seven minutes. Given the 2,000 -kilometer range, today’s launches send a clear message: the whole Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean are within a beam of blow.

The operational activation of Sejjil raises serious Israeli deterrence strategy issues, which is mainly based on anti -missile technology (such as the Arrow and Iron Dome system), and is worried about the possibility of a surprise first blow.

Independence from foreign technologies

Iran promotes Sejjil as a fully domestic product, without dependence on North Korea or Russia technologies. This is not only a national achievement but also a political message of autonomy to the West: the Iranian regime can evolve strategic weapons without international assistance and despite sanctions.

Sejjil are also regarded as the technological step towards the future development of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM), which, if confirmed, will radically change the rules of the world game.

Threat or bluff?

The announcement of the revolution guards is accompanied – as is customary – by high -intensity rhetoric, with references to “devastating retaliation” and “off Israel from the map”. Although such declarations have appeared in the past, the practical use of Sejjil gives new weight to threats.

Israel so far has not confirmed blows in its territory.

The next day

Today’s use of Sejjil redefines the Middle East Power field. It is a message of rocket readiness, while Iran is in an increasingly open confrontation with Israel and the US, both in Syria and the inside of Lebanese and Yemen.

The area enters a new phase of escalation, with Tehran showing that it is no longer limited to the threat – but also to action.
