The Israeli government accused Iran of crossing a “red line” to the country’s largest hospitals, located in Beer Sheva, southern Israel. The incident, which took place on Thursday (19), intensifies the escalation between the two countries, amid prolonged conflict involving the Gaza Strip and Hezbollah.
“The red line has been crossed. Tehran’s dictatorial regime is acting as a barbaric terrorist organization,” said Israel’s minister of health, Uriel Busso, in a publication on social network X. He said that attacking a hospital is a “despicable war crime.”
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) assumed the authorship of the attack, but denied that the hospital was the target. According to the military group linked to the Tehran regime, the offensive aimed at an “Israeli Command and Intelligence Center” that would function near the medical unit.

Despite the Iranian allegation, videos released on Telegram channels show extensive damage on the outskirts of the hospital, including destroyed structures and piles of rubble. The images suggest that the explosion occurred at a nearly close distance to compromise civil infrastructure.
The Soroka Medical Center plays a critical role in the Israeli health system. According to official information, the unit serves more than 1 million people in the south of the country and is located about 35 kilometers from the Gaza Strip. During recent conflicts, it has served as the main destination for the evacuation of civil and military wounds.
