Former Minister Walter Braga Netto has been under arrest since December 2024, on suspicion of attempted investigation. The Federal Police say the general tried to get details of Mauro Cid’s award-winning denunciation in conversations with Lieutenant Colonel’s father.
He is still a defendant for participation in the central core of the 2022 coup plot. In a statement to the Supreme, Braga Netto denied that he participated in an attempted coup and pointed out contradictions in Cid’s statement to defend himself against the accusations.
