The Civil Police are looking for Amanda da Silva Corrêa Procópio, Mother of a 4 -year -old girl who suffered serious assaults on the island of Governador, in the north of Rio. The child had the intestine perforated and his arm broken.
According to investigations, the violence was committed by the stepfather, Israel Gomes, who is already temporarily arrested.
Amanda has been running for over a week. Police from the 37th DP (Governor Island) made steps on Tuesday (18), with the support of the 24th BPM (Queimados), to comply with the temporary arrest warrant issued by the court. The searches occurred in Queimados, where the investigated father lives, and Japeri, at family -related addresses. She was not found.
The arrest was decreed by Judge Marcia Santos Capanema de Souza, who considered the evidence that Amanda omitted by not protecting her daughter from the aggressions. The decision points to the need for prison to preserve the victim’s integrity and avoid further crimes.
According to Deputy Felipe Santoro, head of the 37th DP, the mother knew the aggressions and chose not to seek medical attention to her daughter, even after learning that the child had taken a “knee” from her partner. Police finds if Amanda also actively participated in the aggressions.
The girl is still hospitalized in serious condition at the hospital of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). The investigations continue.
