A new exchange of prisoners of war was held on Thursday (19) between Russia and Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a post on the social network X talking about the exchange and sharing photos of the soldiers.
According to Zelensky, men who have returned to the country are combatants of the Armed Forces, the National Guard and the State Border Guard Service. Most of them have been in captivity since 2022.
“They are advocates from Ukraine who fought in the regions of Donetsk, Zaporizehzia, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernigov and Kiev,” he wrote in the publication.
The Ukrainian President ends the tweet saying that the country works to bring the people back. “Our goal is to free each of them,” he concluded.
The exact number of was not disclosed.
The two nations have been in conflict since February 2022, when Russia began a large -scale invasion in Ukraine.
The war continues to this day, being marked on both sides.
Others have already happened this year, the largest of them.
