US Secretary says military has prepared plans to attack Iran

The United States Armed Forces are ready to execute any decision President Donald Trump comes to Iran, said Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, on Wednesday (18), suggesting that the orientation of Americans can become clearer in the coming days.

Testing before a Senate committee, Hegseth was cautious in his statement, refusing to say whether the Pentagon had prepared options of.

When pressured by parliamentarians, the secretary acknowledged that the military is ready to execute any and warned that Tehran should have attended Trump’s appeals to make an agreement on his nuclear program before Israel’s attacks began on Friday (13).

“They should have made a deal, President Trump’s word means something. The world understands that. And in the Defense Department, our job is to be ready and prepared with options and that’s exactly what we are doing,” Hegseth told Senate armed services committee.

Hegseth was then asked if the Trump administration was acting to restore dissuasive, a term used to describe actions designed to prevent an opponent from taking hostile measures.

He replied, “I think we have already restored the dissuasion in many ways in this environment. The question is, in the coming days, exactly where it will happen.”

Trump doesn’t say if the US will attack Iran, but says it’s late for conversations

The US President refused to answer reporters on Wednesday (18) on whether or her or her nuclear facilities, and said the Iranians had contacted, but he thinks “it’s too late for conversations.”

“There is a big difference between now and a week ago,” Trump told reporters outside the White House. “No one knows what I’m going to do.”

Trump said Iran proposed to talk to the White House. He did not provide details. He described Iran as totally helpless, without any type of air protection, as Israel’s attacks entered the sixth day.

A source familiar with internal discussions said Trump and his team were considering options that included joining Israel in attacks against Iranian nuclear facilities.

Still, Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The Iranians congested the highways coming out of the Tehran capital, fleeing the intense Israeli air strikes.

In the last bombing, Israel said his Air Force destroyed the headquarters of Iran’s Internal Safety Service.
