The actor faced health complications derived from an infection in the kidneys, something that made him difficult to move around. The cause of death was not disclosed. Throughout the nearly 70 years of career, Cuoco, a prominent name on Brazilian television, played successful heartthrobes on soap operas, including the original versions of “Selva de Pedra” (1972) and “Sin Capital” (1975). Born in the Brás neighborhood, in São Paulo, and son of the Italian marketer Leopoldo Cuoco, he helped father at work and even studied right, but opted for the dramaturgy, where he enabled successful work in a period when TV was still crawling in the country.
He debuted in shows of the Brazilian Comedy Theater (TBC), passed the Teatro dos Seven Company, and was awarded in 1964 by the Paulista Association of Art Critics (APCA) as best supporting actor in the play “Boeing-Boeing”. His television debut in 1963 on the program “Grande Murray Theater”, directed by Sérgio Britto, on TV Rio. His first soap opera was on Record, in the dramaturgy ‘Renunciation’. It passed through Tupi, TV Excelsior and TV Globo.
