Chelsea must face Flamengo with an alternative formation in the next round of the Club World Cup. According to coach Enzo Maresca, three to five players should be spared from the starting lineup, due to the physical wear caused by the high temperatures.
“It’s not easy, because of the temperature. So let’s try to run the players. But that (heat) is for us and them too. Unfortunately, it’s more for us, because Brazilian teams are more used to. But it doesn’t matter. Let’s do our best and try to win,” the coach explained at a news conference.

Maresca also pointed out that planning does not provide for drastic changes, but it will be necessary to make specific adjustments. “I’m not saying that we will run 10 or 11 players, but we will surely need to rotate 3, 4 or 5 with each game. We can not play every 3 days with the same players,” he added.
The match between Flamengo and Chelsea is scheduled for 15h (Brasília time) this Friday (19/6), at Lincoln Financial Stadium, in the United States. The confrontation is valid for the World Cup Group D, which also features Los Angeles FC (LAFC) and Sperance, who face at 7 pm on the same day.
