The Civil Protection Office in the Palestinian band Gaza said at least 60 people were killed on Friday in Israeli attacks, 31 of which in an effort to obtain humanitarian aid. These are the latest incidents that occurred near the aid distribution centers, TASR reports according to AFP report.

A spokesman for the Palestinian Office Mahmoud Bassal told AFP that five people were killed while waiting for humanitarian aid, and 26 others died near the place of distribution of assistance in the Necarim corridor. Thousands of Palestinians are gathered daily in the hope that they will receive food doses after more than 20 months of the war between Israel and the Hamas militant movement.

The Israeli army for AFP said that its units in Necarim first fired “warning shots” at the “suspects” who approached them. When the persons did not stop, “the plane hit and destroyed the suspects in order to eliminate the threat”.

Similar incidents have been regularly in the area since the end of May, when the Humanitarian Foundation for Gaza (GHF) supported by Israel and the United States opened its distribution centers. UN agencies and several groups providing assistance refused to cooperate with GHF for concern that the Foundation was created to meet Israeli military goals, writes AFP.

Raids in Dajr al-Balah

Bassal also said that 14 people were killed on Friday for two separate raids in Dajr al-Balah and in his vicinity, 13 victims claimed three Israeli raids in the Gaza region. In the southern part of the Gaza band, two people died in the “Israeli shooting”, the spokesman added.

AFP recalls that, given the media restrictions in the Gaza Strip, it cannot independently verify the data on the number of dead and details provided by the Civil Protection Office.

The armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic jihad, the al-Kuds Brigade, claims that on Friday a blow to the Israeli military habitat in the city of Khan Juni. It said that, as a result, Israeli soldiers were killed or suffered injuries. The Israeli army did not comment on it.
