Francisco Cuoco was 91 years old.

Paulista icon died this Thursday, at the age of 91, the victim of bankruptcy of organ and years of kidney complications. For over 60 years he has done theater, cinema, soap operas and series.

The actor Francisco Cuocoone of the most emblematic names of Brazilian television, died this Thursday, after about 20 days of hospitalization at Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo.

The Brazilian, who was 91 years old and renal complications for several years, succumbed to a multiple organ failure, advanced this Thursday, which recalls the path of the heartthrob of the successful soap operas of his television.

Born in the Brás neighborhood of São Paulo, Francisco Cuoco began his artistic course on the stage in the 1950s – curiously, alongside the giant, Fernanda Montenegro. He went through large theaters such as the Brazilian Comedy Theater (TBC) and the Seven Theater, before debuting on television in 1963 on the program “Grande Theater Murray”.

Everything moved to Paulista in the 1970s, when he played striking characters in soap operas of TV Globo: he starred in the Jungle de Pedra (1972), Sin Capital (1975), the star (1977) and Seventh Sense (1982). Later, after passages in series and humorous programs, and even made a special participation in the soap opera Save who can, where he interpreted himself.

The icon has also explored cinema since the 1960s, with appearances in Grande Sertão (1965), Cafundó (2005) and Real Beleza (2015).

He last appeared on television two weeks ago, in TV Globo’s special “tribute”, which featured an intimate interview and testimonies of colleagues.
