The explosion of a gas bootry in a tent that participated in the initiative Nights of the Saint – Gastronomic Days in Valença, caused two minor injuries, and one of them had to receive hospital treatment, a source from the firefighters said.
Contacted by the Lusa Agency, a source of Valença Volunteer Firefighters in the Viana do Castelo district, said the victims were a 56 -year -old woman who was assisted at the scene and a 62 man who was transported to the Monção Basic Emergency Service to “treat slight burns”.
The warning was given at 17:30.
According to firefighters “the explosion occurred when the gas cylinder was being handled to be installed in the tent for the gastronomic event.”
“The tent was destroyed with the explosion and the focus of fire that originated it itself,” said the source.
According to the same source “the organization would be removing all wreckage so that the party could take place”.
At the scene attended three means and nine Valença Volunteer Firefighters, the Valença Immediate Life Support Ambulance and the GNR.
