CyberNews researchers have identified a mega -switching with over 16 billion passwords and credentials on the Internet, in one of the largest cyber security incidents ever recorded. The information compromises accounts on platforms like Google, Apple, Facebook, Telegram, Github and even government services.
According to the survey, 30 unpublished sets of data were released, with volumes ranging from tens of millions to more than 3.5 billion records each. Most files were organized by URL, login and password, which facilitates automated attacks and large -scale invasions.
The severity of the leak has led the FBI to issue official alerts, especially against phishing attacks via SMS, which use credentials to deceive victims with malicious links.

Google, in turn, recommended that users change their passwords immediately, especially if they do not use authentication in two factors (2FA) or repeat passwords in more than one platform.
