This statement arises after the US special warning to Syria against Hezbollah’s involvement in the war, classifying it as a ‘bad decision’.
Hezbollah leader Naim Qasemem, said Thursday that the Lebanese Shiite movement “will act as understanding” in response to the ongoing war between its main supporter, Iran, and Israel.
In a statement, Naim Qasamem stated that Hezbollah “is not neutral” in the conflict between the two enemy countries and that the Shiite group “will act to understand this brutal Israelo-American aggression.”
The statement arises after the US special envoy for Syria to warn Hezbollah against any involvement in the war.
The United States Ambassador in Turkey and a special envoy to Syria, Thomas Barck, visiting Lebanon, said the intervention of Pro-Ro-Roly Hezbollah in the war between Iran and Israel would be a “bad decision.”
“I can say on behalf of the president (Donald) Trump, who has been very clear about this (…) that it would be a very, very, very bad decision,” said Thomas Barck, in response to a journalist’s question about a possible intervention of the Lebanese Shiite movement in the current war.
Armed and financed by Iran, Hezbollah was very weakened from his last war against Israel in 2024.
Israel kept attacks against Lebanon despite the ceasefire with the Lebanese group Hezbollah of November 27, 2024, which ended over a year of conflict.
Hezbollah attacked northern Israel from southern Lebanon to support Hamas, who faced a military offensive in the Gaza track after having an attack on Israeli soil on October 7, 2023.
Hezbollah involvement in the conflict led the Israelite army to invade South Lebanon in an offensive that eliminated the leading leaders of the Pro-Iranian group.
