NBA star Kevin Durant acquired the Parisian club announced on Friday, specifying that the basketball player’s involvement will also cover the club’s commercial strategy.

This agreement “paves the way for innovative collaborations in the derivatives and media content sectors,” the club said, emphasizing that the agreement will allow the club “commercial growth, particularly in American and international markets.”

“Kevin Durant, NBA star and international investor, is investing in PSG together with Qatar Sports Investment (QSI),” said the current European champion in a statement.

Durant, 36, two -time NBA (Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018) and the only player in history to win four Olympic gold medals from the United States, is acquiring a participation in PSG through the Boardroom media and investment company.

The basketball player is expected to contribute “his knowledge to the Paris Saint-Germain multisport strategy, particularly in relation to future basketball projects,” said the club, which was contacted by the US League about the possible creation of an NBA Europe club.

When contacted, the PSG did not specify which percentage of actions Durant acquired. PSG “has great projects and I look forward to participating in the next phase of growth and explore new investment opportunities with QSI,” the athlete said in the statement.
