The pools at the Vadaš swimming pool in Štúrovo will remain closed until the samples and their subsequent evaluation. This was decided by the Regional Public Health Authority (RÚVZ) in Nové Zámky. For guests accommodated in the area will be designated pools, allowed from RÚVZ, from Saturday (21 June) in operation, confirmed Vadas Thermal Resort.

Laboratory analyzes of water samples from the swimming pool swimming pool have preliminarily confirmed the presence of several types of amoeb in eight samples from ten, which were taken to the Vadaš swimming pool in Štúrovo on Saturday, June 14. This was confirmed by the main hygienist of the Slovak Republic Tatiana Červeňová. The specification of preliminary results, ie what specific amoeba is, is still working.

According to Lívia Németh from the thermal swimming pool Vadas, the presence of dangerous amoeba Naegleria Fowleri has not yet confirmed in the samples of the swimming pool waters. “Laboratory results of water samples from the pools have not confirmed any toxic amoebas,” She noted.

The control of the swimming pool is related to the death of an 11-year-old boy who has infected with the microorganism of Naegleria Fowleri. The boy attended swimming training in Vadaš in early June. The area of the thermal swimming pool is preventively closed from Sunday 15 June.
