The Friends of Betão (Abatet) Beneficent Association (Abatet) held the ceremony of completion ceremony of the social rehabilitation program with the delivery of new housing to interns benefited. The event marked the closure of another cycle of the project, which aims to offer dignity, housing and reintegration to society for people in vulnerable situations. The program has a partnership with the Ecotherapy Association, in which the inmates also work, contributing to care to children with specific needs. The structure offered in the space includes school, computer room, communication channels, therapeutic activities and workshops, aimed at the social reintegration of the participants.
“When we conclude, we conclude that. A day of thanks, where we can see the realization of these people. Go to their new home, to be able to start over. So, I believe that today was a day of thanks, restart and conquest, knowing that the activity of this house really makes a difference,” added the coordinator.
For participants, it is the recovery of dignity and reconstruction of a new future, the coordinator said. “The biggest importance is that they have their dignity back. Many of the inmates here, in the active search, we can bring with great speech, with the Word of God, and here we totally change their lives,” he said.
During the process, the inmates are supported by withdrawal of documents, access to social benefits, completion of studies and technical training. Many also compose the multidisciplinary team of ecotherapy. “We offer this activity along with a social study and therapy program, which make them arrive at the end of treatment and be able to perform these days here for thanks,” he said.
