The American singer, ex-boyfriend of, declared himself innocent on Friday (20) before a court of, in a case of aggression in a disco in the British capital in 2023. “Innocent, lady,” he told the judge after declaring his name and date of birth, in an audience in which several fans of the singer occupied seats in the courtroom. The 36 -year -old, denounced, among other charges, for “trying to intentionally cause serious injuries” to the music producer Abraham “Abe”, was arrested on May 13 in Manchester (northern England) and released eight days later, after paying a bail of £ 5 million ($ 6.6 million), allowing him to start his international show tour.
Brown, who could lose this bail if he did not attend the hearing, arrived an hour before the start to the Southwark criminal court in London. He was formally accused on May 16 by the alleged aggression, which was on tour of United Kingdom. Chris Brown is accused, among other things, having repeatedly struck with an Abraham “Abe” bottle at the Tape Bar, in the exclusive Mayfair neighborhood in downtown London. The victim was then persecuted and assaulted with punches and kicks by Brown and a second person.
Another hearing is scheduled for July 11, before the trial that is expected to start on October 26, 2026 and last from five to seven days. He must respond at the July 11 hearing on two other accusations related to this aggression, including the possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, referring to the bottle with which he allegedly struck the producer.
