Iran files UN complaint against nuclear agency chief

Iran filed a complaint to the United Nations Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council against Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (AIEA).

In his letter, the Iranian Ambassador in the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani, questioned Grossi’s “approach to Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities” and what he said is a “failure” in condemning Israel’s military action, according to the Iranian Semioficial media away.

The complaint comes after Mohammad Eslami, head of Iran’s atomic energy agency, threatened, during Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.

The threat came after Israel bombarding the Iranian nuclear installation of Arak in night attacks.

“It is necessary to fulfill its constitutional duties, immediately ending this inaction and condemning these actions of the Zionist regime that are contrary to international regulations,” said the Charter of Eslami, according to APRS, adding that Iran “will seek appropriate legal measures, especially in relation to the inactions taken by your excellence.”

The Head of AIEA later said on Thursday that the agency continues to “closely monitor and evaluate the situation in relation to Israeli attacks on nuclear facilities” in Iran and that inspectors will remain in the country, ready to be
