UN ambassador to UN, Danny Danon, accused the Iranian government of planning the murder of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump. The prosecution was made during an extraordinary meeting of the Security Council, convened at the request of Iran to deal with the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.
“You are a wolf pretending to be a diplomat. His government tried to assassinate Netanyahu and Trump,” Danon said directly to the Iranian representative Amir-Saeid Iravani, in a hard speech that exposed the level of diplomatic tension between countries.
In his speech, Iravani accused Israel of committing “war crimes” against Iranian civilians and stated that Tehran takes action to avoid low among the population, contrary to what he classified as a deliberate Israeli strategy to reach civilian targets.

The diplomat cited the Israeli attack on the state broadcaster on June 16, which would have killed two pregnant women and their babies not yet born. In response, Danon mentioned the Iranian bombing to the Soroka Hospital in southern Israel at dawn on Thursday (19), which left 71 injured. “We do not apologize for defending ourselves,” he said.
Israel says it will not stop offensive against nuclear threat
Danon reiterated that Israel will continue the attacks until the threat represented by the Iranian nuclear program is eliminated. At the beginning of the current offensive, Israel bombed underground uranium enrichment facilities, starting the most recent climbing between the two countries.
“Iran does not want dialogue. It wants regional domination, destruction of Israel and the United States. This war is for survival,” said Israeli ambassador.

Iravani, in turn, stated that Iran only exercises its “legitimate right to self -defense” and denounced the silence of the international community in the face of what called Israeli aggressions. According to him, there are clear evidence of US involvement in the planning of Tel Aviv actions.
“If the UN Security Council does not act, it will be sending to the world the message that international law applies selectively,” he said.
UN Alert for risk of climbing out of control
UN Secretary-General António Guterres requested containment and immediate dialogue between the parties. “It’s time to give peace a chance. This situation can get out of control quickly if we don’t act with unity and speed,” he said.
