Nike postponed the launch of its new brand in partnership with Skims, line of businesswoman and reality show star Kim Kardashian, after initially planning the launch of the first collection for this spring in the northern hemisphere (autumn in Brazil).
NikeSkims is facing production delays while preparing to debut the brand later this year, according to people familiar with the subject. In recent months, consumers have awaited the first products of the line amid plans for a global launch scheduled for 2026.
Despite the delays, Nike still expects to launch NikeSkims products at some point this year, said one of the sources. It is not yet clear exactly when the first items will be available for purchase, which products will be part of the line or if consumers will have access to a preview before the official launch.

Both Nike and Skims bet high in this partnership. Nike expects Kardashian to help boost its female segment and reinforce its cultural relevance while seeking a recovery. Skims has the opportunity to consolidate its presence in the sportswear market by associating with the largest sporting goods company in the world.
Elliott Hill, CEO of Nike – who left retirement to take office last year, ”he told investors in March that he expected the first“ comprehensive collection ”to be available on the quarter ended in May.
Nike shares accumulate a drop of about 20% this year in the US, compared to 2% of the S & AMP 500 index. Investors await news when the company discloses its fourth quarter results on June 26.

Nike has been setting up a team dedicated to the project, which was kept confidential for over a year until the announcement in February. The division, formed by Nike, Skims and new hiring employees, is still recruiting designers. The line is expected to create and sell a selection of shoes, clothing and training accessories.
