Senator Alan Rick and Mayor Sérgio Lopes inaugurate Integrated Center for Support for Academic Ouroso

This Friday, 20, Senator Alan Rick (União Brasil-A) and Mayor Sérgio Lopes (PL) inaugurated the Integrated Center for Support for Academic from abroad in Epitaciolândia, next to the city’s Youth Square.

The place becomes a reference for Brazilians who study medicine in Bolivia. The structure has rooms dedicated to each of the three private Bolivian universities based in Cobija. The service will be focused on guidance – especially to prevent freshmen, academics and graduates from being victims of scam.Senator Alan Rick and Mayor Sérgio Lopes inaugurate Integrated Center for Support for Academic Ouroso Senator Alan Rick and Mayor Sérgio Lopes inaugurate Integrated Center for Support for Academic Ouroso

“This is a very important step for Brazilian academics to have a humanized service, seeking solutions, a place to ask questions and have access to all the necessary information not to be fooled. An initiative that already has my full support. I am here ensuring amendment resources so that the city can equip the house, to fund the operation – everything necessary to maintain this service,” said the senator.Senator Alan Rick and Mayor Sérgio Lopes inaugurate Integrated Center for Support for Academic Ouroso Senator Alan Rick and Mayor Sérgio Lopes inaugurate Integrated Center for Support for Academic OurosoThe academic Fernando Maciel celebrated the delivery of the space:

“We have suffered from prejudice because we are Brazilians – by teachers and Bolivian students – to abusive charges, such as the UAP recently instituted, tripling the value of degree collation fees and emission of diplomas without predictability or plausible justification. Having this support space is very important. And receiving our senator here brings us a lot of joy, because he is really a defender of all of us in the National Congress.”

Mayor Sérgio Lopes also celebrated the presence and support of the senator:

“I am sure that, uniting forces, we will be able to advance in more achievements for our students. This project is an example: it was born from an idea of Councilman José Henrique, that our city has embraced and structured. And our senator has already guaranteed all the necessary support and resources,” he said.

Great meeting with exchange students

Shortly before the inauguration, the senator attended a large meeting with the exchange students on the court of Youth Square – a moment when he reported to work in the Senate in defense of students and graduates in medicine abroad.

At the time, he recalled achievements and struggles, such as:

  • The obligation of bimonthly realization of Revalida, won in 2019 and recently expanded;
  • The inclusion of Brazilians formed abroad in the Mais Médicos program;
  • The constant struggle for the application and fair correction of Revalida’s evidence;
  • The defense of the reduction of the registration fee of the second stage of the exam;
  • The proposal of dismissal of the second stage for doctors of Mais Médicos with four years of operation and good evaluation;
  • The return of simplified revalidation;
  • And the creation of the National Examination of Medical Proficiency with egalitarian conditions for graduates in Brazil and abroad.

“Whenever we received demands from our students, we operate with commitment to seek solutions. It was thus with the claim of internships and boarding schools: we open dialogue with CFM and CRM, negotiating a deadline for the officialization of agreements and ensuring the continuity of the training of acre medical academics in Bolivian universities. Wins necessary for young people who dream of exercising medicine in Brazil. Our country – especially states like ours – is still very lacking in doctors, ”he concluded.

Due to the performance in defense of the cause, Senator Alan Rick was honored by the rector of the Private University Savio (UPDs), Michel Alencar.

Also participating in the agendas were federal deputy Roberto Duarte, the councilman of Rio Branco Zé Lopes, the deputy mayor of Epitaciolândia Serginho da Saúde, Councilman José Henrique and the representative of the Private Technical University Cosmos, Silton Melo.
