Slovak athlete Emma Zapletalová won at the Athletocageneva bronze meeting in Geneva, Switzerland in the 400 m run of obstacles in the Slovak record and record of the event 54.24 seconds. The Dutch coach of the Bram Peters coach by four hundredths improved her own historical maximum of 10 July 2021 in Tallinn, where she won the title of European Champion under 23 years.
Zapletalová over a hundredth of a second conquered South African Zney van der Waltová, with whom they overcome the final ten obstacle, in the finish she had more forces the Slovak athlete. A member of Banská Bystrica Dukla moved to 11th place in this year’s world tables, third in European. Zapletalová also reached time below 55 seconds in the fourth start at 400 m obstacles. In Geneva, she improved the seasonal maximum of the Diamond League in Oslo by two tenths.
For Zapletalová this is the second record of the Slovak Republic in the ongoing summer season, On Tuesday 17 June at the Tipos SNP criterion in Banská Bystrica improved the Slovak record for a smooth 400 m at 51.91 seconds.
“I started the first 200 meters more freely. I could start faster, but I had to shorten my step a bit before the obstacles, and then as if to run again. Therefore, I still have to work on the frequency of my step. For the first time, however, I managed to run after the eighth obstacle to 15 steps. It was, I think, quite easy, it was not a big hesitation, which I am very excited about, ”said Zapletalová for the athletika.sk portal.
“As for the conclusion, I saw that the South African is just in front of me, but I thought I’d try and re -finished, and although after the tenth obstacle, I was a little decorated in one step and I got sick, it worked out. The conditions were fine, although a slight headwind was blowing in the opening two hundred. It was quite hot, but higher temperatures do not hinder me. I believed that I had a form for a Slovak record, because at the Diamond League in Oslo, where I reached 54.44, it was still just a run as if for sure and on the sixth obstacle I changed the rhythm into a 16-step rhythm. Today, however, the first time was given the opportunity to run after the eighth obstacle to fifteen. I suspected that if it works out, it could be a Slovak record. However, I still see some reserves, so I feel that I can further improve step by step and move forward. ”
