Draw would leave the powerful Italian club without any victory after two games at the Club World Cup; Group and will be decided next Wednesday (25)

Inter Milan beat Urawa Reds by 2-1, on Saturday (21) at the Lumen Field Stadium in Seattle, and kept the chances of classification in the group and the Club World Cup. The Japanese team came out ahead and held the advantage until the 33 -minute second half, but gave the draw to Lautaro Martínez and conceded the goal of the turn in the additions, at Carboni’s finalization. With the result, Inter reaches four points in two matches.

The Italian team ends their participation in the group stage on Wednesday (25), at 22h (Brasília), against River Plate, again in Seattle. Already Urawa Reds, who has not yet scored, will face Monterrey on the same day and time, at Rose Bowl, in Los Angeles.

Despite the technical superiority, Inter has found difficulties from the beginning. With strong tactical discipline, Urawa Reds retreated and sought to block the entry of the area. In the only team finish in the first half, at 11 minutes, Kaneko made an exculating individual play, crossed on the right and Watanabe, free, finished first. The ball deflected in the defender and deceived goalkeeper Sommer: 1-0. Inter dominated possession (70%) and abused the intersections – there were 22 in the first stage – but created few clear chances. The most dangerous was a kick on Lautaro Martínez’s crossbar on 18 minutes.

In the second half, coach Cristian Chivu’s team began to take more danger, but was also exposed to counterattacks. The draw came on 33 minutes: after a corner of the left, Lautaro hit a pull on the first post and scored his second goal in the tournament. Already in the additions, Carboni hit the placed kick and decreed the turn.7

Despite the victory, Inter tries to erase a season marked by disappointments. The team was runner-up of the Italian Super Cup (losing to Milan), the Italian Championship (decided in the last round, won by Napoli) and the Champions League, where he was beaten by Paris Saint-Germain in the final. In the World Cup, seeks redemption with the title.
