River Plate and Monterrey played a truncated match and full of yellow cards at the FIFA World Cup. The dispute on Saturday (21) at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California ended up drawing 0-0.
With the result, River Plate remains ahead of the group and the competition with four points, and Monterrey remains in third position with two points.
The Mexican team started the match with some advantage and threatened with kicks to the art of Arteaga, 5 minutes, and Canales, 13. The first half continued to be bustling, with both teams with difficulties to create plays.
Fouls and cards, however, were numerous – nine yellows and an expulsion, from Castaño, from River Plate.
After the break, River Plate had more game volume, but chances of changing the scoring did not come. In one of the most dangerous moves, on 30 minutes, Borja was stopped by goalkeeper Andrada in the large area.
River Plate faces Inter Milan and Monterrey takes Urawa Red next Wednesday (25).
