We can understand this existence upon the earth, as the most vibrant hope of the coming of the Savior, always surrendering by truth and defending the truth regardless of the oppressions of his time

John the Baptist had for parents, Zechariah and Isabel, Zechariah was a priest in the temple, Isabel was a cousin of Mary Mother of Jesus, so John and Jesus would be cousins. Isabel was barren and God in the old age of Isabel granting her the grace of being a mother, despite his advanced age, God thus operates this prodigy and does with Isabel in this way may be the mother since the prophet we celebrate.

– Differences and likeness between the birth of John and Jesus:

* In John the birth is announced to his father Zacarias in Jesus the birth is announced to his mother Mary.

* Isabel was sterile and God performs to the grace of this to stop being and so and in a natural way conceives a child.

* At the birth of Jesus, the virginity of Mary is elevated, being the virginity of Mary developed by the spirits of light, as the fact that Mary never incarnated on earth and when the spirit of Mary was on the spiritual plane before incarnating was already a virgin, perfect, virgin, sin or wicked spirit in acts and thoughts such as continuing to be virgin in acts and thoughts, yet in relation to her cousin. Reincarnate over the earth before, in other reincarnations, so Isabel and Mary are spirits with a distinct degree of evolution.

** A similarity is that both in annuling Zacharias of the birth of John the Baptist and in the case of the annuling the Blessed Mary of the birth of Jesus, the spokesman for this good news is the angel Gabriel.

– The Day of the Birth of John the Baptist:

Birth is celebrated on June 24, it is a symbolic date, as the date of the birth of Jesus was symbolically adopted for the day of December 24, as John was older 6 months, hence June 24. It is not a concrete date but symbolic because the birth of John the Baptist was fixed by the symbolic date that represents the day of the birth of Jesus.

John is born in the Summer Solstice, announcing the joy of the coming of the Messiah, just as summer brings joy to our lives, in turn, in the case of Jesus, his birth is fixed to the winter solstice having a symbolic representativeness that Jesus is the light that opens ways and alumia between darkness, which are the darkness associated with winter and his light comes from ignorance.

– Life and mission of John the Baptist:

John’s mission had already been prophesied centuries before this is born by the prophet Isaiah, saying this: “The voice that cries in the desert, preparing the ways of the Lord, straightening his paths.” With this passage the prophet Isaiah prophesies what would then be the mission of John.

John had as a mission to announce the coming of the Savior his cousin Jesus and preach to occur the conversion of sinners so that they could repent of the human evil that were in them and once the consummate repentance, then by the grace of baptism could be born again and receive Christ with the “clean” soul, leaving the old life of evil behind and embracing the new life of peace and love.

A curious fact in the life of John the Baptist and Jesus is the fact that Jesus asks John the Baptist his cousin to baptize him, Jesus did not need to be baptized, but to give us an example, Jesus as our greatest positive master and an example that we could understand the meaning of life, so Jesus requests baptism to give an example to all, so that they leave this old life, hatred, hatred, and lies back and embracing the love that guides God the Father.

And so was the mission of John forgiving the sins and baptizing, after there is personal repentance of each, warning the men and women of his time for the arrival of the kingdom of God, this kingdom of which his cousin Jesus, a kingdom of peace, righteousness, of brotherhood, love and charity, would be a kingdom where lies has no presence and the truth always wins.

Death, the spiritual leave of John the Baptist:

John the Baptist is warned by Salomé, and the head of John the Baptist is served in a tray, for King Herod kept a loving case with his sister-in-law, which was considered to be lovers, and John Baptista who was prisoned for righteousness, manifested himself against this union and thus Solomé meets the request of his mother, who had not enjoyed hearing the words with his union, beheading of John the Baptist.

Physical death, that is, the spiritual disregard of John the Baptist, is celebrated on 29 August, which in this day is popularly named in the Algarve, of St. John of Degola, because St. John the Baptist was;

As a conclusion of the spiritual mission of earthly life of John the Baptist, we can understand this existence upon the earth, as the most vibrant hope of the coming of the Savior, always surrendering by the truth and defending the truth, regardless of the oppressions of his time, St. John the Baptist is undoubtedly a lighthouse of courage and hope for all of us.

A holy and blessed month of June and a happy day from the city of Tavira, St. John’s Day. From Algarve to the world a brother in faith.
