Wagner Pontes, founder and CEO of D4U Immigration, who advises visas, says that the current scenario reflects a change in the immigrant profile that seeks legally in the US, surfing the wave of American demand by experts in areas such as technology, engineering and health.

“There is a greater proportion of qualified professionals coming to the US to add to those who came with temporary visa and stayed to work and send money to Brazil,” he says.

The most requested visas by Brazilians who want to undertake in the US are:

  • EB-1: focused on professionals with extraordinary skills in science, arts, education, business or sports.
  • EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver): focused on qualified professionals who want to get Green Card without sponsor, ideal for specialists in various areas such as technology, health, engineering and business.
  • EB-5: intended for investors who apply significant values in US business and generate jobs to Americans.

In the D4U, the increase in requests from January to May this year was 51%, compared to the same period last year. Of the total of 16,000 eligibility analysis requests, 53% had profiles compatible with some type of visa, according to bridges. Costs, according to Pontes, can reach $ 18,000 for a family with children under 21.

At On -Set Consultoria, which also helps Brazilians to obtain American visas, demand has grown gradually in the last two years, according to Guilherme Vieira, founder of the company. The costs start from $ 4,000 to the visa, or up to $ 250,000 until Green Card.

“The United States want great professionals and entrepreneurs who will produce wealth, pay tax, make a qualified service provision,” he says. “I often say that the United States is for everyone, but not everyone is for the United States,” he says.

Wyndson Oliveira, CEO of Automate Bot, seeks visa to expand his business in the USA

CEO of Automate Bot, which offers marketing and sales solutions based on artificial intelligence, Oliveira has as plan to open an arm of the company in the US. The expectation is to leave to Uncle Sam’s land within two years, with his wife and two daughters.

For Oliveira, the US has always been in favor of entrepreneurship, and the country is open to those who migrate legally and documented. In addition, the technology area has high demand and is in the interest of the US experts.

Despite tensions in the US, he says that the situation in Brazil is not the best for those who want to start and maintain business, and cites urban violence and tax issues as barriers to continue living here. “There, taxes are paid on profit, not about gross revenues. This encourages the growth and expansion of companies because I can reinvest what to earn,” he says.

Production of content from then on

With an eye on producing more economy and investment content, Charles Mendlowicz, known as “The Sincere Economist”, is also looking for an EB1 visa to expand his performance in the US.

He says he is producing podcast content in the United States in a second moment, intends to open an investment office in Brazil and the US. “Almost 60% of Americans already invest in the stock market, while less than 5% of Brazilians follow this strategy. I want to help exponentially increase this number,” he says.

The anti-immigration policy does not intimidate either. “This kind of situation seems to be restricted to specific cases. Despite the repercussion, I do not see it as something that should cause fuss to those who are legalized and committed to their purpose,” he says.

Why internationalize business

Opening a business outside Brazil requires detailed strategic planning, market study, supplier costs, labor, tax issues, product adaptation, relationships with potential customers, among other details that are specific to each chosen destination.

Vieira states that the ease of starting a virtual company in the US already allows for sale in dollars and an increase in valuation of the company. This also serves as a previous step for opening a physical branch, strengthening branding and expansion in the US market.

In the case of Automate Bots, Oliveira says that he has 23 years of experience in the area and more than 680 projects in various countries, including business trips to the US and a special participation on a business mission in 2010. That is, before deciding to open an arm of the company in the US, he already moves in the American business environment. Thus, having a US company would make it easy to close new contracts with potential customers that it has already mapped.

“Just being distant [no Brasil] If you miss many opportunities, meetings, contacts. And every time I went [aos EUA]I did excellent connections and good business, ”he says.

He has also identified a product that can adapt well in the US market, which is an AI with voice for telephone interaction or websites.

“In the United States you still use a lot of phone to do business. This one would talk, hear the person, interact, answer, ask questions, make scheduling, indicates the nearest store. We make the site itself talk to the person,” he explains.

For Mendlowicz, the expansion to the US will bring a wide view of investments. In his assessment, the presence on American soil would give him the content he needs to pass on to those who accompany him on social networks.

“We have done several research and analysis that show that Brazil still has enormous growth potential in the investment market, and here in the United States I can personally study the latest in terms of care and technology,” he says.
